geotag plugin does not work anymore

Post by konus »

Hello,
I have problems to use the map in the article editor to set a pin on the map. Left click on the map does not work anymore like I was used to do it to fill the coordinates in the Lat/Long-fields.

I am not sure what changed and tested it in Firefox and Opera and in two different blog installations. Does anyone else is using the geotag plugin and observed this problem?

Hi!

Yeah, the plugin makes use of the GoogleMaps V2 API. It's not a huge amount of javascript that is used there, so I think it should be possible to use V3 here.

However I personally currently have a bit of too much "paid work stuff" in my queue, I'm not sure when I could find some free time to implement this...anyone maybe reading this who knows some basic javascript and always wanted to contribute some code to Serendipity? I would help as much as I can, I think the most part of the work is doing a javascript HTML example with the V3 maps API, putting the JS in the s9y event plugin should be no work at all...

Regards,
Garvin

Unfortunately it seems, nobody use the geotag plugin any more. I would recommend, to tag it as broken.

We don't really have a way of tagging plugins as broken yet (ideally, this shouldn't ever happen). No volunteers who'd like to have a look? It shouldn't be that hard, and I'd be really willing to help :)
