Grey screen on 2nd installation

Post by bendweasel »

I installed serendipity on my website with no issues - love the program!

I need to have blogs in 3 different locations so I did a fresh install in a separate directory. After selecting expert install (as I did before) when I hit the button at the bottom of the page the screen went dark grey with no text. I hacked out and did a simple install with the same results.

Considering a path issue, I did another fresh install, this time in my root directory, simple install with the same results.

There are no error messages. Looking at the database shows the tables have not been written.

I'm at a loss!

Suggestions anyone??

Thanks

Hi!

Is your default browser background color grey? Usuually you can get a white empty page that usually means a fatal PHP error that you should be able to see in your Apache/PHP error log.

Can you describe more exactly your layout of the directory structure? Did you install it in subdirectories within each other, or in parallel directories?

When you entered the database credentials, did you use a distinct database for each installation? If you chose the same database, serendipity will not overwrite your current data...you need a separate database (or at least a seperate database table prefix) for EACH s9y installation.
