I think this is normal, because non-image-files like a pdf should be displayed, too.
The problem of this thumbs-file is: I have make the transfer via ftp and I transfered my windows-thumbnail-system-files, too. Before the release I will simply delete them.

maybe it's possible, if the file is a pdf, to display a pdf icon instead - or even the first page of the pdf as I have seen somewhere. I'm sure Matt could advise if this is possible.
