I'm planing on implementing s9y as a base for several sites I maintain, thus making it easy for the site owners to update, without needing programing knowledge.

I love S9Y! 8)

Very nice, and nice to see a charitable website looking professional.

Is the staticpage_precontent from a plugin or did you hard code the table into your entry?

Cheers

It's a static page, with the tables in the content. 8)

I really like what you did with your site. I am new to Serendipity and have been reading over this material and viewing post to try to do exactly what you accomplished with the static page and header. I thought that I would have to embed serendipity within a regular webpage to acheive that look. If you would could you please go over a few steps to guide me in the right direction. I would really appreciate any help that you are able to give.

Thanks,
D. Mack
p.s., A very nice job.

I probably would do it differently now, using div's etc. But as it is, it's a table with the data inserted into the static page. Here is what it looks like from the admin: http://familyafrica.com/s9y.png

The banner and menu up there is an HTML file inluded in the templat, that way I can easily make changes.

Code: Select all

<div id="serendipity_banner"><div id="bg_bar">
{php}include 'inc/menu.htm';{/php}
</div>
It's really nice to hear how much folks like the site. A sure pay-off...especially when it's pro-bono work. 8)
