Bye-Bye Golden Layout: Redesign FCON21.BIZ

Post by johncanary »

Hello S9Y World.

I have recently changed the color scheme of my SY9 Blog. The blue background and
orange font di not find many "friends". You want to have a look? There is a screen shot of
the old layout, too.

Bye Bye Golden Layout

It's much nicer now than in the original orange on blue. I've made (much) darker orange and darker blue work well together, but it was isolated to a blue over orange text/tag line logo, blue text and orange design elements (bullets, 1px borders, etc) on a white background.

Used sparingly and in just the right hues, the two colors are very complimentary and create great impact and interest - otherwise I tend to agree with the point made in Joe Hallock's study (from your post).
