really?
I can still see them ...
http://svn.berlios.de/viewvc/serendipit ... p?view=log

They aren't good to keep if we ever switch though, since Smarty 3.1 and up will make us change quite more and differs even to these 3.0.x preperations.

Hi!

Somehow the SVN commit does not go through, my machine is "hanging" since half an hour. I'll see if something happens...

If smarty 3.1 and onwards might make too much trouble, we need to think about maybe not switching and staying at 3.0 or even 2.x...we'll see how that comes along.

GArvin

When will 1.6 be released, and why is the latest svn 1.7 when 1.6 hasn't been released?

Hi Don!

I am planning to release 1.6 in the end of october. I've actually prepared 1.6 a long time already, but never had enough free time to do the actual releasing, and getting to fix 2 outstanding bugs.

That's the reason why there's already a 1.7 branch out, to make sure that we can check in new experimental things already, if we need, without affecting the 1.6 release process.

Regards,
Garvin

The Serendipity dev branch 1.7 is pretty stable and ships with current Smarty 3.1.11.
Serendipity versions below 1.7 will need a lot of work to interact with Smarty 3x without errors.
There are no concerns regarding old templates with shipped Smarty3, as far as we know.

EDIT: YEAH F***! I answered to a Spammer, which got erased.
