SPAM in this board

Hi!

The last 2 days had a large increase in registered spam users. I have thus done those things:

* New registration has a harder captcha
* New user registration reauquires a simple custom profile input field where people need to enter a number
* New users must get their first post approved by a moderator. I usually visit the forums quite often, so new users should hopefully not need to wait too long before their posts get approved.

For the other moderators on this board: Please visit your modcp every now and then to also approve new valid users! Thanks a lot!

Regards,
Garvin

I have to admit I have no idea what a "modcp" is or where to find it :)

What I was wondering the other day: Is there any way to delete posts by a specific user in bulk? (Probably in the modcp, huh?)

Hi!

ModCP is linked in the bottom of the Page:

Personally I have not yet found a bulk delete. If you find one, gimme a hint :)

So, let's say you go to a forum, and there are 10 new spam messages. Without selecting any of the messages, select moderator control panel. You can then place checkmarks next to each post. Then there should be a dropdown box where you select the action you want to take for all the checked posts....

As an admin, you can also go to "manage users" and select the user, and delete them... which also has an option to delete all their posts. You can also ban them by IP address on the same screen.
