Serendipity 0.8-beta1 released!

There Serendipity team is happy to announce the immediate availability of the first beta-release of Serendipity 0.8.

Serendipity is a PHP-powered weblog application, aiming at giving you an easy way to maintain your own individual diary or personal homepage.

After some time of hard development, we have further improved Serendipity with many great enhancements. This includes Smarty Templating, maximized performance (15-30% depending on setup) a new Administration theme, many new importers, dozens of new plugins, a new installation process and many detail improvements.

We are very eager for you to try our vastly improved beta release and notify us via mailing list or the forums/IRC about any problems you may face. We have put all of our effort into make thing beta version a very stable release - but we rely on your feedback to improve Serendipity even more.
