Serendipity 1.2.1 released

Serendipity 1.2 has been well received by the community, there were only very few minor bugreports. Those have been addressed in the Serendipity 1.2.1 maintenance release, available now.

The new Serendipity version also includes some new Bulletproof Theme options (user-customized stylesheets) and addresses some very minor browser quirks. If you're using Bulletproof, it is suggested you perform the update.

Also this new version addresses a security issue in the Remote RSS sidebar plugin (reported by Hanno Böck), which did not properly treat links coming from an RSS feed, which could lead to possible XSS attack vectors, if you are showing foreign feeds that might distribute malicious content to you. If you're using this plugin with an unsafe RSS feed, you should upgrade Serendipity.

Serendipity 1.2.1 features a new WPXRSS importer, support for the new WordPress 2.3 database structure
All bug fixes have also been applied to our current 1.3-release tree. This release currently features some new Smarty-Templating convenience features, a remote spartacus version information interface, full pingback support, a LifeType blog importer and support of SQLRealy.

Upgrading Serendipity is very easy, have a look at the FAQ (http://www.s9y.org/11.html#A18). The new version is available on the Serendipity download page (http://www.s9y.org/12.html).

Enjoy Serendipity and have a nice Christmas time!

well, the download worked after a while....

I am still a little bit confused, while I was working on a new bp based template which was v1.1 with s9y 1.2.
Now with the new s9y 1.2.1 version I tried to port this to bp1.2, which does not work for me yet. The template config data does not update the database config table. I tried to switch several times without success. Is that a bug, maybe?

Hi Harald!

Might take some hours until SourceForge distributes the files to all mirrors.

Ian: Please open a new thread for this, and describe what happens: Do I understand you right, you access the template config screen, change settings, save them - but they do not get saved to the database and are reset to the previous values?

Regards,
Garvin

Well, it seems like a problem with http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/php- ... p?download

I can only connect once or twice every 10 minutes to prdowloads.sf.net and once i've got a 0 byte version...

Is there currently another mirror for the 1.21 or could someone provide one for some hours? Strange thing... But if i am the only one with this problem, i guess it's my fault somewhere...

I had the same problem.

My workaround:
Went to sourceforge.net, searched for serendipity and found http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=560194

I selected one of them and at the following page there's a link "Select a different mirror?"

Mirror Düsseldorf worked fine for me.

Still having a problem here downloading. None of the mirrors work and even tried the overseas ones too. Sometimes getting a 404 error.

NO WAY. Whatever this may be... I need a different mirror :(

Maybe it has somethnig to do with the provider... Alice/Hansenet

I tried dozens of mirrors, 3 browsers, different sessions and still am unable to download ;)
