Internet Explorer Hates My Theme!

Post by petersreviews »

I don't use IE so I was surprised to view my site and see so many problems. The plugin titles start to look strange if you scroll up and down, the "e-mail this page" plugin looks funky and the Google search also looks strange. I removed all the Mozilla specific stuff and that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Just tried it out on IE6/WinXP. Looks like a refresh problem; the sidebar titles are getting partially erased when you scroll up to reveal them, yes? Depending how fast I scroll, I can get white lines or nearly fully-erased sidebar titles.

I did a Google for "IE CSS disappearing text" and came up with several solutions. The easiest is to apply position:relative to the sidebar titles and their parent containers. After that, try giving it a tiny little height, like 1px or something.

I try to apply position:relative to just about everything. It fixes a host of IE bugs.

I started to fuss with it but I didn't have enough time to fix everything that was going on so I switched to a different template. I chose the nice, clean newspaper theme but I'd like to add a border & graphic to the main title. I totally suck with CSS and I haven't been able to do it. Any easy suggestions?

Thanks!
Peter
