How do I skin my blog ?

Post by .Joel »

Hi,

I am interested in knowing where to start to edit the skin files ? Is it an online editor such as with Invision Power Board or is it in static files which I download, edit and upload ?

Regards,

.Joel

First i suggest an editor like this one:
http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm
And then you just need to open the style.css of the skin you
want to edit, there is an folder in your serendipity install called
templates there are all the skinfiles in. Hope that helps and happy
skinning.

Also look at the *.tpl files in your template, you can edit them with a file editor as well. Those files contain the HTML code of your template and can be templated with the SMARTY markup.
