First question: S9y has - as far I understand - a left and a right sidebar. Where could I "switch on" the left sidebar (for most templates only have a right sidebar)?
Which file I have to alter to add Links in a sidebar which point to posts I would like to have accessible all the time? The plugins only show for example the most recent posts.
(Background: I try S9y for a school site CMS: http://www.ats20.de/serendipity.)

The left sidebar should be "turned on" for most templates (I can only think of two that don't allow it, but I'm also not a template expert).
If you look in the "Configure Plugin" list there is a ""Placement" drop down on the right side of the page... (for each sidebar plugin)
You can just set those to left and the sidebar should show up...
As far as links to posts, the easiest (or quickest) way is probably to use the html nugget plugin, and to just put links in manually.
The linklist plugin does support linking to specific pages, but I don't think it would make managing local posts much easier then using the html nugget plugin.
