Made a new theme in greys ..

No changes, no chances

Only thing which needs costumizing is the top-left image .. Other than that, the purple can be changed to an other colour .. demonstration of the colour-combinations can be seen by clicking through the main menu items here

That looks really great. I especially like the way how your sidebars interact with the whole layout!

How do I change the sidebar? I tried to look it up in the tpl files but couldn't find it! How did u do that?
especially that for closing the elements ...

That is a plugin, look at serendipity_event_sidebarhider from our plugin repository.

Antoher question: is it somehow possible to change the output of the Categories Box? E.g. show the XML icon after the Category name?

Yes, this is possible by creating your own plugin. You can use the serendipity_categories_plugin from include/plugin_internal.inc.php as a starting point for modifications.

You could also let the XML icon float to the right with CSS only.
