Double sidebars in Andreas08

Post by holysjit »

Hi,
Is it possible to create two sidebars (left and right) in the Andreas08 theme?

It's been done but I wanted to add some extra functionality to the template before releasing it, but if you PM me your email address I'll send it to you.

Check this screenshot: http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/2646/wherevv3.png

When you selected the template did you select the template named "Three Column Andreas08 s9y v2.0"?

The new 3column version should install in it's own folder, not the same folder as the original andreas08. Once the template is fully complete then the two versions will be merged.

I upload the files in the folder 'templates'. I created a new folder called 'Three Column Andreas08 s9y v2.0'. But there are still no three collums.

When you unzipped the file I sent you there should have been a folder called 3col-andreas08, and when you select the template inside Serendipity you should see a template named "Three Column Andreas08 s9y v2.0".

The template does work, other users have the same version as you and were able to select three columns, do you have plugins in the left and right sidebars?

Yes. I think I use 5 plugins in my sidebar. But When I install the theme, I can't select left and right sidebar...

Ah, that sounds like a different problem.

The template I sent you has it's own entries in the options table in the datebase (t_3col-andreas08) and it doesn't set the number of sidebars in config.inc.php

I think someone like Garvin needs to help out, one of the programmers would know more about sidebars not working than me.

Sorry I can't help.

Yes it does, the template works with three columns, I don't know why it isn't working for you, one of the programmers needs to help you.

Hi!

Carl: I would need that anreas08 template, can you send it to me?

Holyshit: Can you please provide a screenshot of your plugin configration management interface, and a SQL dump of your serendipity_plugins DB table?

You did not modify any files of andreas08 that carl sent you, right? You put it straight to a new directory (like andreas08_02) and then went to your blog, went to the "template management" page and switched to andreas08_02?

Regards,
garvin

HI!

Carl's template looks fine. I don't know how it could be possible that you're not seeing sidebars in your configuration panel, so I need that screenshot from you, holyshit. Also please tell us which serendipity version you are using. You should be using 1.1 or 1.2.1. If you're using a 1.3-version, please make sure you are using the most recent snapshot.

Regards,
Garvin
