Hi!

I suppose you mean the "Aggregator" plugin, Serendipity has that one.

Hi!

Once you installed the aggregator, you can see its configuration where you can see a URL you need to poll either manually or using a cronjob.

If you also install the serendipity cronjob plugin, those two can interact together and you don't need to configure any cronjobs manually.

You need to enter the RSS URLs you want to import into the menu the Aggregator offers, in the main menu on the left hand in your admin panel.

Best regards,
Garvin

Hi!

There's no menu item. Are you sure you installed the RSS aggregator plugin? Is it listed ion the page when you click "Configure plugins"?

What do you mean? Can you change your wording, I don't understand it?

There is a seperate plugin called 'Cronjob' that you need to install ADDITIONALLY to the RSS Aggregator plugin. And then you need to enable visitor-based cronjobs, that's right.

The RSS Aggregator plugin will then be called automatically by the cronjob plugin.

I was need to go te configure plugins, event plugins, and then click on save and then it appear on left menu.So rss feed will go automaticly,no need for special things with cronjob plugin?(it is already installed)

Hi!

Yes, that's right. Once you added the RSS feeds you want to import to the 'RSS Aggregator' menu you now have on the left side, you can go to the plugon cinfugration menu, choose RSS Aggregator and there you can specify how often the plugin should be executed (hourly, daily, etc.).

Hi!

That page's second article is quite old. It might be ignored because of the RSS Aggregator's expunge options. The Aggregator will discard articles older than X days, which you can configure?

Please set the RSS aggregators "debug" option, then you can call http://bobbins.org/index.php?/plugin/aggregator and see if there's extra output...

Garvin

Hi!

There you have it, the debug info says your timeout is set too high, it does not import entries that are considered too old. Just raise the timeout in the config of the rss aggregator plugin.
