Currently when publishing a new article and announcing it on social media (Twitter, Identica), the URL scheme (http or https) that the article author used to access the blog will be applied to the the published link. This is not always optimal. Just think of a blog with a self-signed certificate to secure the backend login, but visitors are expected to access an unencrypted frontend.
It would be great to have a plugin configuration option such as:
() always use http
() always use https
where automatic would be the default and just behaves as the plugin behaves now.
I hope I was able to describe my idea clearly. Else please feel free to ask any questions about it.
