Of course.

Go to your personal preferences and disable WYSIWYG. :)

There is a plugin "entrypaging" in our additional plugins that should add pagination to larger entries.

Remember though that you cannot create entries larger than 65kb because a HTML textarea does not allow more characters.

I'm writing a comparison review of wordpress and serendipity with lot of screenshots like 60 of em, and lot of txt and explanation.

I have no idea how big or small 65kb is. Do u have an example.

right now I'm writing it using wordpress, but its making me pull my hairs out. Spam karma doesn't want to work and the best IImage Browser doesn't want to work either.

lets see how the review goes and which blogging package i use to actually post it .
cross ur fingers. :P

65kb are roundabout 65.000 characters. A simple A4/letter page usually consists of about 3000 characters. That means you can write about 21 DIN A4 pages of text using one content field.

If you use both extended and body fields to the max you can use the double of that, meaning 42 A4 pages.

BTW, the same limit of text applies to wordpress! :)

Have fun with Serendipity,
Garvin :)

Get it here: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/p ... trypaging/ or use the Spartacus Plugin to install that plugin - the name of the plugin is "Links to next/previous entry".

Sorry, I confused the plugins :-D

The plugin entrypaging is just to display a "next entry / previous entry" link.

The plugin I meant is "serendipity_event_entrysplit" (use the same link as before and just replace the directory names). Then look at the configuration of the plugin, it tells you whether to split after X characters, or to use a separator string like <!--nextpage-->.
