Hi,

Is there any chance that somebody is already working on some plugin for including App.net posts? Something along the line of the respective WordPress plugin at https://bensmann.no/downloads/wordpress-adn-plugin/ (or http://wordpress.org/plugins/tmb-adn-embed-and-widget/, respectively).

If so, a pointer would be much appreciated.

you can use the OEmbed-Plugin, which allows embedding of many contents, also App.net.

Thanks for the pointer. The oEmbed plugin does indeed retrieve at least some of an ADN posting's text. Sadly it cuts it off at empty lines which renders it inappropriate for my use case.

YMMV, of course.

Some more digging reveals that the implementation of App.net's oembed provider only comes with support for JSON (https://developers.app.net/reference/other/oembed/). It doesn't just return HTML that one can put in a s9y posting.

A possible solution might be to write an own oembed provider for ADN that returns usable HTML.

Pointers to alternatives are still very much appreciated.
