how to access "Manage Style" for templates
I want to apply a template to my blog, but there is no "Manage Styles" link on the admin console. What to do? Thanks.

Hi
But there must be a 'Appearance' Block inside the sidebar, which holds the 'Manage styles' link, which further leads to all Templates delivered by the S9y release zip. If you want more, you should install the Spartacus Plugin, to achieve all Templates and Plugins you can also find http://spartacus.s9y.org/ here. Spartacus appends them automatically to your backend.

Is this a blog you installed yourself in your own webspace or was it set up for you by someone else, possibly a hosting company? If so, it might be that you don't have the proper permissions to change the template (which would be kind of silly).rajilukkoor wrote:I want to apply a template to my blog, but there is no "Manage Styles" link on the admin console.

This sounds like RVSiteBuilders.... if so, there is nothing we can do to help as they are using their own modified version of serendipity.

Oh..... RVSitebuilders -- yes.
The default template they have provided is very basic and meets my needs, I suppose, but not my wants. What's the best way to migrate this blog so that I can play around with it? This blog is fairly new, only 8-10 items. I'd be happy to transfer over to another app. Any suggestions?
Thanks so much, all.

If they provided you with the ability to create your own database, and also a file manager (or you have FTP access), you can download serendipity from the link at the top of this page, upload it to your server, and install it yourself. You can then install or modify any of the templates.
