Hi all,

in preparation of an intelligent linking between s9y and Twitter, I tried the Microblogging-Plugin.
All settings seem to be valid, as a result, no tweets are published, I tested entries by admin interface as well as entries by Popfetcher.

So far, I'm sure my settings have a stupid fault that I don't identify -- could someone please lend me an eye on these:

Grischa updated the plugin just recently and put much effort into changing the workflow of connecting accounts. I've not yet had the time to test the changes myself, but I'm sure he'll find this forum posting here.

Can you tweet using the internal tweeter? If not, the connection to your twitter account may be set up wrong..

just tested that and it didn't work. After that, I disconnected and re-connected the twitter account, et voilà, it works. It seems that further integration is required to fit our application's needs, luckily the first steps is done now, thanks!

(We are using s9y and massively Popfetcher for our E-Mail-to-Web gateway http://schnellze.it, where replies become comments on the Web frontend)

Did you updated the plugin or did a fresh install?
Do you have an idea what went wrong when you first connected your twitter account? (is there some way for me to prevent this?)

I couldn't figure out what was wrong with the first connect ... no update, no fresh install; simply disconnected and re-connected, after that it was working.

While it was working, I had to deactivate because the plugin also announced entries of my co-authors (I can remember to have read something in the requested features list?), what would irritate the twitter followers of my personal twitter account.

Do you have news in this issue, "announcement by author" (entries _and_ comments) instead of "by new entry"?

This is still something to do, sorry. I'm still thinking about where to do it the best.
In my opinion it should be done in the user management of the blog (not in the plugins configuration). The users should be connected to twitter/identica/whatever accounts.
The plugin should check these settings and fetch the connection of the author from there.

But this is a lot of work, as I have to go deep into the usermanangement of S9Y and I am not sure, if plugins have hooks to add extra settings to users.

The fallback solution would be to connect blog users to socialmedia connections inside the plugins configurations. But that looks somewhat ugly to me, as it does not feel like "the right place"..

For me (more content developer than programmer), your suggestion with the s9y users management taking care of the microblogging accounts and identities is probably the right way to manage that issue.
