Malte, is your suggestion for these 3 plugins based on the old structure and behaviour?

Personally, by this amount, I would place them all into their own plugin section, differed by apps sections, likewise my example.
I would think it to be cleaner being strict in keeping core administation and plugin administration seperated.
Its some sort of related to your Template discussion, you remember?

Ian

I meant the current structure. Think it's possible to start with this as it don't interfere with your plan.

I am not totally convinced that having an own plugin-section would be such a good idea (because in the end, the user shouldn't care where that funcitonality comes from). But I agree that havng everything in entries is bad.

Having an own pluginsection: when thinking about this, the natural place is below "Configure Plugins". But having another level of navigation seems arkward, especially because we already have a list of plugins in "Configure Plugins".
Which leads me to this thought: Why do we have those sidebar-entries anyway? They are a way to show additional info and configuration-options to not just the admin, aren't they?

Is it possible that if we had a way to add those pages to the normal configuration of the plugin, it would be in most cases preferable to have them in the normal configuration instead of on an own sidebar-menu-side?

No, not all of them. Why do they have a sidebar link? Because they have the ability to edit the plugins content somehow like staticpages, DLM, GB, etc. This is something totally different to a plugins config, which isn't used so often (and even there are differences). IMHO, if I want to work with a plugins content, I don't want to search one or two levels down in admin panel to get there.
