Microblogging plugin - default for article announcement

The microblogging plugin (serendipity_event_twitter) adds a checkbox to the edit/create entries page allowing individual entries to be suppressed from announcement: "Do *not* announce this article using microblogging services". The default value for this box is unchecked.

I would like to suggest there be a plugin option for the value of this checkbox. Does that sound reasonable?

The plugin generates a checkbox for all entries that, if checked, will suppress the entry from twitter. By default, this checkbox is not checked. I would like a plugin option that can set the true/false value of this checkbox. For instance, I would like the ability to mark this box as checked (ie, suppress from announcement) as a default instead of unchecked.
