Hi,

it would be nice to have Piwik integration in Serendipity. Piwik is an open source web analytics solution that is highly configurable.

Cheers

Hi Dirk

I really think this is getting confusing having versioning feature request and so on in this forum. I would appreciate having this in our normal forum places, until we decide to develop this or there are lots of people voting. Thats why we had the future of threads. We then picked out the ones on Garvins List and added the ones with some votes.

Thank you
Ian

Can you please speak about this and add a sticky note to this forum?

Most of the guys I know in s9y-universe say, that this is the place to discuss new features.

What is correct? Your point of view or the other one?

Cheers

Dirk

Hey
nothing to get pissed of ;-)
There is not an inner circle or something, this is beyond my scope.
I just wrote that I would appreciate having this.

In this case I misunderstood you.

Most definitely not as a core feature. I'm not sure it needs a plugin, either. Then again, I am a template guy and can integrate this stuff myself pretty easily, so maybe a plugin is a good idea for novice users.

Maybe someone should add this to the Google Analytics plugin? Don't they both just add a piece of JS code somewhere?

Yes, sure, as a plugin.

If you would only use it to count your visitors, there would be no need for a plugin. But Piwik can don much more, if you use the API. From goal conversion over download tracking up to embedding reports.

Google analytics is currently illegal in Germany, I think this is because of not anonymising IPs.

As far as I remember, you can activate anonymising IPs in the Plugin.

I'd also appreciate a piwik plugin for sure. It can already be easily included through a HTML nugget, but a dedicated plugin would of course be appreciated.

Piwik should not be bundled in the core, though.

(On a sidenote: I moved this thread, and created a sticky announcement on the 'upcoming features' subforum to indicate the "rules").

Regards,
Garvin

I just grabbed this one year old thread to let you know that I'd like such a Piwik plugin if/when it is available.
