request for title bar plugin

Would it be possible to create a plugin to replace the title bar (banner) section with a different page?

I know I could use the wrappers, but doesn't that involve losing the sidebars? If not, ok, I'll do it that way...

Otherwise, I'd just like to be able to use a custom page/image in its place.

That's what our Smarty-Templates are there for. )
Just create your custom template and edit the index.tpl file.

Also think about if you cannot already achieve your different banner by just using CSS and background-image() properties...
