Google complains about broken sitemap

I get this error in the Google search console / webmaster tools about a serendipity sitemap:

Sitemap can be read, but has errors
Unbound XML namespace prefix.
1 instance
The XML Sitemap cannot be parsed because it contains one or more unbound namespace prefixes. For example, this error is generated when <xhtml:link> is found in a Sitemap without prior xmlns:xhtml="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml".
Line: 9

I can reproduce this on two different s9y installations.

I think that plugin would need some love anyway. I could help merge a PR!

I think I found the bug and made a pull request:
https://github.com/s9y/additional_plugins/pull/91

Thank you! It's great the plugin gets some work done, it's way too important to be ignored or dropped. Shall I close https://github.com/s9y/Serendipity/issues/589?

You opened that bug, so I leave that up to you :-)

But from my side the relevant issues should be resolved once the PR is merged.

Then I'll close it, at least for now :)
