[1.7] Link "back to blog" does not work

Post by Lux »

Hi

With 1.7 the link "back to blog" does not work anymore, it links to the page you are currently on.

Cheers

Is this a blog which is affected by the infamous “empty URL to blog in config” bug? Because after setting that, I can not reproduce this.

Yes, it is.

And this Posting is a "gentle reminder" to get a official patch out of the door. :-)

That's a bit confusing. :)

As far as I can see on GitHub, the base url bug is being investigated (and hopefully) fixed as I type this.

Yes, I know. Do you hear the voices as well?

It's is only confusing because of different communication channels. We "spoke" about this issue by mail, but none of the readers here was aware of this bug.

This ist not true, definitely!

I and others had at least 3 or 4 threads (or even more) including this issue in the last three weeks.

If so, they didn't read http://board.s9y.org/viewtopic.php?p=10434754#p10434754 :)

So, maybe I did not find the postings.

Calm down!

I did not read the posting since I did not have any issues with the latest release candidate. So the transition from RC3 to stable contains the porblem.

I don't have a clue.

I can only tell you that all links were working with RC3, but they did not with the release version.

I will try to find out, if "DefaultBaseURL" was set before the upgrade.

In Blog coming via RC the variable defaultBaseURL did not exist. In Blogs updated from 1.6.2 the variable exists but empty.

What I find as well is that the variable autodetect_baseURL is set to false for blogs coming from RC and true for the others.

That is interesting. -Thank you!
Could you try and sum these issues & investigations and paste them into onli's thread (the one YL pasted here). He is trying to fix this for us all.

btw, we are not talking about the config - path page, are we? There is only one input field that should hold the baseURL variable string, even if in S9y-1.7 this is named defaultBaseURL internally.
