So - I've installed Serendipity, ticked the yes box marked "Force XHTML 1.1 compliance" in:
Serendipity Administration Suite/Appearance and options/Force XHTML 1.1 compliance
but all my pages are still HTML 4.01 and not compliant.
Anyone any ideas what I should do to get this standards compliance?

maybe you'll have to wait until we make a new release, as this xhtml thingy has been added a bit hectically. or go and ask www.supergarv.de as he implemented this feature
