Even better, you can do that independent of the theme you use. The plugin serendipity_event_page_nugget (available on Spartacus) is perfect for that – basically, it lets you add any snippet of HTML markup to a specified position on your page, independent of the theme.

Usually, counters and stats tools give you a little snippet that you're supposed to add to the end of your page (the plugin does have an option to emit code at the end of the page). Note that there are two seperate fields for HTML markup in the plugin; usually, you'll want to use the second for your snippet. Also note that you can install and use multiple instances of the plugin (i.e. to include multiple stats tools, which is not really recommended, though).
