Some publicity for S9Y

Post by zafiro17 »

I put up a little bit of publicity for S9Y on my website at http://www.therandymon.com/index.php?/2 ... ipity.html. My website had run on Joomla 1 from about 2005 until last month, when I decided to redo it in a format that works on small screens. I tried Wordpress, Joomla3, and looked into some more obscure stuff as well. In the end it was clear S9Y was the winner.

I'm a little tired of all the Wordpress hype. I can spot a Wordpress site as soon as I see it; the templates all give themselves away, and I read about its security problems just often enough to be apprehensive about it. I think the installed base is big enough it becomes a target.

For me, the XML-RPC call was a huge feature, but what really convinced me to go with S9Y was the 2K11 responsive theme, which looks and works great.

To all the developers, you're doing great work. S9Y is a great piece of software.

Hopefully the publicity gets you some good attention. I'm the published author of three books, which leads to up to 4000 hits per day sometimes. Happy to spread the good news.

Hey Randall

Thank you very much for your support!
We love our tiny Serendipity universe! :D (growing!)

Edit: Btw, the contents path migration is really odd if you have to do that by hand.
There once was a guy who wrote a blog migration post about this issue and his bash script solution. Unfortunately it is in german lang and does not exist any more, but can still be found in the web-"akasha". ;-) So you may drop that to a translater and see if you get his clues.
