Could we do something so people could subscribe to a "New Version" notification?

Sometimes, as it was my case, one may go a few weeks/months without checking the forums. During that time a new version may be made available which fixes security vulnerabilities.

Do we have anything like this already?
Should we make an Announce or Security mailing list?

Subscribing to the RSS feed of the S9y blog should cover that in most cases. There's also some work being done on the dashboard plugin which will eventually develop into an update notification within the S9y backend.

The notifications is already included since quite some time in the dashboard-plugin.
