'Vote' plugin?

Greetings, all -

Is there a 'vote' plugin for Serendipity? I did a site search but didn't come up with what I was looking for. It doesn't have to be complicated, just handle a question and a few choices.

In lieu of that, is there a 'vote' program that can be installed on a regular HTML site and then linked to from a Serendipity page?

As a small side question, is there any way to upload non-pictures with the editor? I tried uploading a few Zip files with the Image Manager, and, while they seemed to upload okay, when I downloaded them through a test page they were corrupt. Did I miss something?

Thanks for any thoughts,
Doc

I guess you're looking for the Polls sidebar plugin (serendipity_plugin_pollbox). It's available via Spartacus.

It should be able to handle non-images like .mp3, .doc, .pdf, and yes, also .zip.

Is this a live blog? Can we check out your download page?

YL -

Thanks for the reply. I'm a guest-blogger on Maggie's Farm, a somewhat eclectic site. I'm the local computer whiz.

As far as the 'vote' thing goes, I want something to put in a post, not in the sidebar. If there's no specific plugin that'll do the job, it might be possible to put the vote 'engine' on my own site (as a guest-blogger, I don't have access to Maggie's server) and relay the vote 'engine' to the Maggie's post. I do that with FLV videos, posting the video code directly into the source code in the Serendipity editor and directing the player and movie paths to my own site.

As far as the Image Manager accepting non-pic files, I'll have to try it again. It was more than a year ago when I last tried it. But I tried two or three Zip files and the downloaded versions were all corrupt.

Thanks for any additional thoughts,
Doc

as I remember, s9y wants to unpack zip-files, so it is a problem to upload a zipfile which should remain a zip-file.

background: I think this should be a way to upload many images at one time.

Thanks much, Don. It looks just a wee bit more elaborate that I need, but they might have a 'simple' version.

Stephen - It's odd that just dearchiving a Zip file would actually corrupt the original, but something nasty is going on.

By the way, does anyone know what comment editor this site is using? We're still using the one where you have to manually put square brackets around everything.

Thanks,
