embed video in post. request for advice.

Post by weirdo »

Hello my friends. I just installed the software and created a post. I clicked "new entry" and put a title and body. In addition, I clicked "media", then "add media" in the popup window that appeared. I went ahead and uploaded a mpg file, which I verified did upload to my website.

I visited the post and I see the link to the video clip at the top of the post. Therefore, people are able to download the clip. I would like it if, when a video is uploaded, it is embeded in the page and playable on the website.

After this problem is tackled, I intend to allow users that post comments to upload embeded video.

These problems do not seem to be addressed in the faq or in previous posts. I would thank you for any help you offer.

Thank you,
Michael :o

I've just successfully installed a flash setup to play .FLV files. I'm not sure about how to embed .WMV or .MPEG files but what you explained is the way the blog software is suppose to work as far as I know.

For embedding flash videos go here: http://board.s9y.org/viewtopic.php?t=8233&highlight=flv

For examples, visit my site below.

The "Easy Podcasting Plugin" is exactly what you are searching for. It will convert your media links into Player Code when displayed inside the blog.

Spartacus is offering this plugin.

I have some examples for it online on my site. All of them where done using this Plugin: http://blog.brockha.us/index.php?/plugin/tag/Podcast

embed video in comment?

Thank you for your replies. Is it possible to embed video in comments? This is very important as it is for my wife's school and she needs her pupils to be able to upload their own videos.

No, this is not possible. But why not giving the pupils own (limited) accounts for doing podcast articles?
