Hi!
I plan to install Serendipity as my blog system.
I was wondering if there's a Image Gallerie built-in? I check the doc and didn't find alot of information on this.
Also, if it does includes a Image Gallery, does it have these functions:
- Upload a zip and containing multiple picture or I need to upload file by file
- Can a gallery have multiple page (ex: A gallery containing 100 picture, 10 picture per page)
Thanks guys!

Re: Image Gallery
Hi!
s9y has a media database builtin, yes. As an admin you can upload and manage media files easily.
There are also plugins on spartacus.s9y.org through which you can display a user gallery in the frontend.
HTH,
Garvin

You need to upload file by file, but s9y contains form duplication so that you can upload multiple files in one request. Or you use FTP uploading.- Upload a zip and containing multiple picture or I need to upload file by file
I think so, yes.- Can a gallery have multiple page (ex: A gallery containing 100 picture, 10 picture per page)

Garvin,
Thanks a lot for that really quick answer.
I'll then try this blog system. My hosting support FTP upload.
One last: I guess using FTP, I need to upload to /uploads. Is it possible to create sub-dir into /uploads (ex: /uploads/cuba, /uploads/republic) to keep thing clean? How will s9y react to this?
Thanks again!

Hi!
Yes, you can use subdirectories! Those will also be synchronized.

Garvin

Re: Image Gallery
I think Garvin got most of the other questions, so I figured I would fill this one in a bit.Delerium wrote:- Can a gallery have multiple page (ex: A gallery containing 100 picture, 10 picture per page)
If you look for the "Gallery Display" event plugin (also named usergallery in places) you can do this without any trouble. And it works with your idea of creating subfolders under "uploads" pretty well. You can either install one plugin per folder you want to display and restrict the plugin to just that folder or you can use a directory tree and show a navigation system any allow people to access a whole directory tree.

Hi guys,
Thanks you all for your replies. I installed usergallery plugin. Configure it and added a Static Page for it. In the "Other plugin" under the static page, I see Gallery is checked.
But weird... the link for it never appears on my frontpage.
Any ideas guys?
PS: Yes... I'm pretty new to s9y so I might miss something for sure
Thanks again guys... for a first contact: very nice community!

Sorry, I haven't used the static page sidebar plugin before, so I can't offer any real help.
If you post a url to the site I might be able to see something weird (like corrupted output or something), but I don't have a whole lot more to offer to solve that problem.
Garvin (or someone else) is likely to have a better idea.

Hi!
Did you install the staticpage SIDEBAR plugin as well? The link to the gallery is displayed in that sidebar plugin.
And as matthew indicated, if you can give us your URL, we might be able to deduce more from that and what could be causing your problem.
Best regards
Garvin
