My second Blog and some questions

Post by Jekky »

My second Blog on the template is a Clean Blog. https://webshef-cook.ru /
This is a culinary site (with your own and other people's recipes). There are static pages on the topic of proper nutrition
https://webshef.ru/pages/sistemi-pitaniya.html , which have 1 problem , the pages are not canonical. But Only promised to help with the code. I want to thank all the developers who made this wonderful project. :) And the question is - I have adjusted some of the plugins to my needs, translated some files for myself (in the admin panel, for example), if I update Serendipity and plugins, will all my edits die?

If you edited text in files that existed before, then yes - your changes will be overwritten when you update plugins or serendipity. But if the files are new, then they will persist if none of us adds the same file.

Are the changes good for all russian blogs? You could send them as a PR to https://github.com/s9y/Serendipity for the core and https://github.com/s9y/additional_plugins for the plugins that are not part of the core. We would merge them and that way they would persist.

My changes relate only to changing part of the blocks (how to remove comments on those sites where they are not needed globally), this is editing templates and - translations, for example, in the screenshot. Of course I can make translations, no problem. Need to? I've been reading Github for many years, but I've never published anything there. I guess I'll figure out how to do it, I hope. Below is a screenshot that I can translate into Russian.
