Post by dorian2727 »

How do you guys make money by giving out software? I know PHP is open source, but do you guys take donations or anything?

I think we all take donations willingly. Many of us have paypal links on their blogs, or Amazon wishlists. But you're not supposed to donate anything, we do it because of the fun of it, as Jannis says.

Your payment is contributing to help improve Serendipity. :-)

Although I am thrilled that the developers enjoy what they do and don't mind doing it for free, it really would not hurt to make it easier for people to donate to them.

Specially I am a big fan of buying from people's wish lists (ie books, DVDs).
