Name of this forum

Wouldn't a better name for this forum be "Development"?

Well, helping the developers help development, so the current name seems
fine to me.

Actually, in the past the forum was not the place were discussion about actual development took place. We used (and continue to use) the mailing list for that, because some of the other core devs do not poke around on online forums.

Thus the category "Helping the developers" was more meant for people to drop in patches, bugfixes and where we could ask for public support, testing or whatever.

I will add a new forum for the development now.

Personally I avoid mailing lists like Nigerian spam. Since s9y has a forum
system running I always post stuff here exclusively. Never in the mailing
list...
