Consider this: secondary title aka byline

I would like to consider an addition to entries, that being a secondary title. In the news world, they refer to this as a "byline".
I have often wanted this. Lots of times. And I know how to add it to a specific template. But what I would like to see would be this feature added to the core. It might look like
"Don kicks Garvin's ass in photography" <= entry title (like an h2 or so)
"Don shares his secrets to best lenses and camera bodies" <= proposed entry subtitle/byline. (h3)
Thoughts?
Disclaimer: Garvin has already forgotten more about photography than I will ever know!!!!

What would be the benefit of having a secondary title field in entries? Isn't it more flexible to be able to add such a secondary title (if you want it) in the entry body?

2k11, for instance,
has that information. It is even displayed at the position where you suggest it to be, it just isn't a heading, it's a span (which, in hindsight, wasn't my wisest choice, but meh).
So why should it be an extra headline? (By the way, the wikipedia example only mentions that the byline is below the article's headline.)

Afterthought: why introduce a new field in the entry editor (and the database) just to enter information that we already have?

I wasn't thinking of it as redundant to what we already have... ie, NOT author name, dates, etc. Rather a brief description of the entry. More than the entry title, less than the entry body. It is fairly common in newspapers and magazine articles. But, it seems I am the only one advocating for it, so I guess I will just build it into a template if I really want it.

Hi!
Why not use a custom entryproperties field for such a byline? And place it everywhere the template needs it?
I'm not sure that a byline should be a mandatory s9y core-element, I would find it a bit confusing and unneccessarily cluttering...?
