Flash Player in the sidebar?

Post by JokerHill »

Hello everyone!

I was wondering if the flashplayer/podcast plugin could be mounted to the sidebar in an html nugget somehow?

Thanks!

Hi!

No, not really. The sidebars are usually independant from the entry. And only sidfebar plugins can be shown there, not event plugins. Unless the event plugin has its own hook for sidebar output.

All of them, the flashplayer plugin does not have. It could be added, but that would mean heavy reworkings of the code with surely 4 hours worth of coding.

Send me a message and let me know what that might cost. :)

I cannot help but wonder what you want to do with this... Do you just need to see a single video in the sidebar? I have definitely done that... I am just not certain of your requirements...

Hi!

I too would be first interested in what your requirement is to have the video on the right sidebar...if it's like Don said, to have a SINGLE video there, that would be easy...but to make it context-sensitive with the currently displayed entry, that wuld be harder.

Plus, you have to remember that users will most likely not understand that the video in the sidebar is related to the entry, but would think its an unrelated video?
