Gallery2 - what am I missing?

I have a new Serendipity installation up and running.

I also have a Gallery2 page up and running.

I have installed the Gallery2 plugin which is supposed to embed the Gallery2 pages within the Serendipity installation ...

but nothing happens.

Gallery version is 2.1, which, in being GA, I presume would be newer than the RC2a.

Serendipity is 1.1 Beta 1

My configuration for the plugin is

G2 System directory:
/home/.endora/gstark/webbase/garyblog/photography/

G2 HTTP path

Serendipity Embed filename
/index.php?/gallery2.html

URL Shorthand name
Gallery2

What am I missing here?

What should I be seeing?

How should this be working?

Honestly, the only way it will work is to install RC2a, because the newer versions of Gallery work on a different version of the API Core. Therefore the coding of the plugin probably needs to be updated.

If you happen to install the RC2a version and run into any problems, please let me know. I will try to help you out any way I can.

yeah.. like it seems totally useless to be honest I wish it was fully integrated but o well


Basically all it does is wrap around the gallery anyways so I don't see it as being a big deal... but random images on side would be nice

Do you mean in the sidebar? If so, take a look at the Unified Image sidebar plugin. It should do everything you need.

look at the Unified Image sidebar plugin.

I use it with Gallery2 and it works well if you are after random images.

Also you may like to check out "Markup: Gallery Image" for embeding gallery images in blog posts.
