activating menu items like about, music, contact, e.t.c

Dear Sir,
i recently installed serendipity on my server. The frontend template is andreas09 which i installed from the back end. This template has header menu with about, contact, music and homepage. The problem i am having is not able to activate these links to work. For example i want to enter details about us and be able to click it from the front to read about the website owner. I have tried setting up static page but it will not display anything. Please help.
