Feeburner integration - force option and URL

Post by francisco1844 »

Trying to setup feedburner with a new blog.
I selected "FeedBurner feed" to force and put the URL in the "FeedBurner ID".

When I look at the blog it shows "Numeric feedburnerid required".
Anything else I need to do besides selecting force for "FeedBurner feed"?

Which s9y version are you using? Recent versions should allow you to enter the feedburner URL.

You might need to tell us what exactly you entered there. :)

serendipity_config.inc.php:$serendipity['version'] = '1.5.4';

No clue what I was doing different before (maybe the memory issue that affecting the theme editor affected this too?.. seems unlikely).. but now it works.

Does it make sense to have both the direct and the feedburner feeds?
Or is it more common to use feedburner as the only method to subscribe?

Hi!

If you force feedburner, you actually don't need to offer both links in the plugin - just pick the one you prefer. The Feedburner icon would more closely reveal that you are using feedburner, while the normal RSS feed more gives the user the idea that the feed comes from your site...
