Upgrade documentation update request

Post by philip »

I use s9y, and every once in awhile notice my version is outdated. Here are the steps I just now took to update:
  • Went to s9y.org
  • Opened the Installation Docs link, but considered going to FAQ
  • Noticed the Upgrade docs there have not been updated for almost two years, but open them
  • Wonder if they are neglected (1.0 being the latest it refers to), and if I'm about to break my blog
  • Don't upgrade today and instead write this post to the forum
This is an overly wordy request to ease user anxiety by ensuring all will be okay because the documentation is updated, and that the s9y upgrade process has not changed for years now.

Everything is still the same. :)

Backup your old files (if you wish to do so), upload your new copy of s9y, run the installation, and voila!

I notice my post is unclear. This is a request for you to update the upgrading documentation because immediately seeing it's not updated, and that 1.0 is the latest noticeable version mentioned, is a little scary at first. Maybe a new "Notes on updating from 1.x" that states nothing has changed... The "Updating" section kinda does this, but not really.

Hi!

Thanks for that hint, I've updated the docs pointer accordingly :)
