Re: Where to install StatCounter code?
Hi! Which search button is giving you a 404 exactly? The easiest way is to either use the HTML nugget like you already do, or edit the theme's "index.tpl" file with an editor and place the HTML code into that file. HTH, Garvin Many thanks for quick reply. The 404 comes from "searchin...

Where to install StatCounter code?
Where is the best place to install the StatCounter code? Currently I have it in the Html Nugget plugin but as it is an invisible counter it produces a lot of blank space.
(Sorry if this has been answered already but the search button gave me a 404.)

Can't turn off spam control on my own comments
I've been trying to turn off spam control on my own comments but I still have to enter the special text, and even then I have to approve my own comments. I've tried disabling spamblock for Administrator (me), Chief Editor, and Standard Editor but it makes no difference. I really want to be able to e...

Thanks to garvin and judebert for replies. I've got it working now. The link I'd put in originally was to my domain name host. Oddly enough this brings up the picture when I access it from Firefox but it seems it doesn't work for judebert or for Serendipity. I therefore changed it to my actual site ...

How to include an image?
I want to include an image in a post. I clicked on the "IMG" button and got the <img src>line. So I made a directory on my site (blogpics) and uploaded the image (liver.gif) to that directory. I then had the line in the post: <img src="http://www.acampbell.org.uk/blogpics/liver.gif&qu...

Hi Judebert! I hate to even consider catering to these people, but... Garvin, could we add a configuration option to force using the bundled libraries? It would sure make things a lot easier for accampbell and other folks caught by incompetent hosting services. Sure, it's already in. Just set $sere...

Changing ISP is not really an option, since I've just moved after a lot of trouble and this is one of the few linux-specific ISPs in the UK. My previous one didn't allow me to use Serendipity at all. I'm being caught in the cross-fire here. My ISP admin says: ========================================...

Follow-up after contacting ISP
My ISP admin is not willing to modify the php setup on grounds of security.
I have therefore commented out the relevant lines in serendipity_event_weblogping, which eliminates the error message. I presume this will not have any adverse effects?

Warning message since upgrade to beta version
Since upgrading to the beta version I get the following message when saving a post: Warning: event_hook(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 2669 is not allowed to access /usr/share/php/XML/RPC.php owned by uid 0 in /users/a/acampbell/website/serendipity/plugins/serendipity_ev...

This is Firefox, on Linux. It's the latest version of Serendipity. I tried from two different computers on my LAN. I think I may have misunderstood the instructions. I thought you could do it all in one go, but I think you have to do it sequentially. Is that right? It's a bit difficult but I got it ...
