Hmm, you should've replied to your original thread to keep down the confusion. ;) Anyway, don't you have a database created already? I mean, just installing the MySQL won't give you a database... but rather, you need to create a database first. Then s9y will use the database to create some tables fo...

Okay, I fixed the validation issue and added option to put 'submit' button
under the search box. The new version has just been committed. It'll be
accessible in a few hours (version 1.3). Thanks for the suggestions! :)

Hmm, I guess it's not specific to the Apache / PHP / MySQL installation.
At least that much is confirmed...

Use the plugin I wrote called "HTML Nugget on Page" (yes, it's on Spartacus
as well as SourceForge CVS). Select "End of the Page" for the placement.
Example can be seen on my blog: I placed my copyright notice with this
plugin.

Looks like serendipity_config_local.inc.php file was inaccessible by your webserver user. This file has the configuration data for database info, so if it's not accessible the blog won't work. If the file didn't move elsewhere, check the file's access permissions. Usually, because it contains sensit...

Interestingly, this plugin sort of does the exact opposite of one of my
plugins... show all categories except one. :) (and no, I didn't know this
plugin before making my own)

Hmm, the site has about the same pause before loading compared to my own site, which also happens to run on Mac OS X. I assume your site is running on your own rig as well? If so, what OS version, Apache, PHP, and SQL version are you running? Mine's 10.4.2, 1.3.33, 5.04, MySQL 4.1.14. Oh, and it's r...

Well, copying all the files over is only one part of the move. You also have
to move the database. You'd need to back up the database from the older
server and restore it at the newer server.

Well, I think you could just make a plugin without the prefix, but then not a lot of plugins come with a readme file, so I think everyone just went onto stick the prefix as an easy marker of sorts. Also, having the plugin labeled _event or _plugin doesn't automatically make the plugin act like event...

But the thing is, English setting IS already UTF-8 in my blog. The language file has been modified so it can be fully UTF-8 even before using 0.9 version of s9y. Some of my 'default language' entries are in Korean. Not to mention the guestbook would break the hell loose if English was at ISO-8859-1 ...

Thanks for the comments. Oh, the site's a bit slow because it's not on a backbone or anything. If you read the profile change I made note that the whole gig runs on my own computer, with a single VDSL modem connection to the world. The computer's base language is English, but then it's running OS X ...

Obviously if you simply do an 'upgrade' from 0.8 to 0.9 the installer will do all the DB changes. So basically you could save the s9y database tables somewhere and upgrade that.. OR, make duplicate tables with another name. You could have 0.9 installation unzipped, then modify the local_config file ...
