I did find this http://www.carlgalloway.com/archives/76-Calendar-sidebar-plugin-for-s9y.html article by Carl on the calendar plugin, but admit I have no idea how people are using the listed styles to achieve things like shortened weekday names (ie, "mo" instead of "mon", "tu...

I'll try your suggestions Garvin, but one question. I do not know what template his site is using... how do I look at his CSS???

The page I am working on for myself is:

2 others: 1) There is a block marked "trackbacks".... how do I get rid of that? 2) Why isn't my footer showing? #serendipity_footer { margin: auto; width: 760px; height: 40px; background-image: url('{TEMPLATE_PATH}img/clc-bottom.png'); } BTW - my name is Don. The "Owen Stubbs" na...

OK - making progress. Still need to find decent colors that work throughout the page (active, links, etc), and much other formatting. I do have the following questions: 1) I cannot find a style that is producing the border around the pane. I have the #mainpane set as follows, so perhaps it is elsewh...

Carl - I used the single quotes because that is what the default style.css used for the banner. I tried without, and still nothing.

Thanks judebert, gavin & carl. I'll get the hang of this stuff eventually. So far, I started with the default style.css. Changes so far are not working at all - even the sidebar plugins are not displaying. Only changes I have made to the template so far are below, noted in bold. Nothing else cha...

I found the commented style sheet in the wiki last night, and it helped. Carl's blog explained one further aspect though - that being, there apear to be dozens of undocmuented styles. Would be great to get a single style sheet with every single style listed and defined even if rarely used ones were ...

I suppose I will start with the default. But allow me, a total noob, to offer the following observations: Why, on earth, must there be a seemingly random order to the various styles within the style sheets? Can this be standardized? It is VERY difficult for a newbie like me to compare one sheet to a...

Judebert - I'm throwing in the towel on that line of thinking. Your help allowed me to make it work, but I do not think an Iframe is what I want. You have just posted on another thread in which I am moving in the direction of using themes. I'll just let this thread die - will pick move over to that ...

Defacto theme style.css

I'm very new to s9y. I have been reviewing all these great themes many of you have created...... I have noticed that there are dozens of different style.css sheets.... I understand why they differ from one another, but is any one of them the defacto standard, containing all variables, and ideally, h...

Templates without left sidebar?

OK, looks like I need to try and emulate my site with a custom template. First place to start are the existing template.... First thing I notice is this: Why do so many templates seem to ignore the sidebar placement for left, and is there an easy way to correct that? At least when I look at them, I ...

Well, I have yet to defeat the supression of my FrontPage theme, but I am coming to a conclusion here - so let me know if this is correct. It appears that, while I can certainly output the blog to my own page, the reality is this - any time you hit "comment", and after such a comment is po...

Don't know if this is correct, but I tried the following: chdir("serenity"); require("index.php"); chdir(".."); It seemed to work. Sort of, now I need to figure out some other things: 1) I am not getting my MS FrontPage theme elements in, and it makes me wonder if it is...
