Well. I'm very thankful for the great feedback. As I've said the theme is actually very ugly from a coding point of view, so I don't feel comfortable releasing it as is. However, as I'd like to contribue to this great software I'll commit to the following: As soon as I've cleared a few "to do&q...

David: I'll have to see about releasing this. IT's currently full of hacks workarounds and poorly written CSS, so I'm not feeling very comfortable just dropping it out of my hands yet. What I might do is clean up the code of my previous design (which didn't need quite as much hacking) and release th...

Bar Sinister

I came home last night after having spent much of last week coding up a dummy page for a job interview... By some very strange reason I just couldn't stop, so I put together a new theme for my site. It doesnt show properly in Internet Exploder, because I stand adamant on my right to use png. I've te...

The filename is "serendipity_plugin_showentries".
Sadly my PHP-Fu is weak, so I haven't seen anything obviously wrong in the file.

Interesting bug

I've found an interesting bug that I can't really figure out myself. I have the "Category in sidebar" plugin installed, and accordingly the items in that category are hidden from the article overview. Now, what seems to happen is that the "Category in sidebar" plugin kills the &q...

And 5 minutes later I find the plugin that does exactly this...
Very sorry.

However I do have some questions. Is it possible to make a category not show up in the main blog but only on the sidebar? Also I seem to have a problem filtering out the categories I don't want. Anyone else had this?

Pardon me as I think out loud

Lo again my most serendipitous friends. I'm finding myself at the moment wanting to implant a sort of "mini-blog" in the sidebar. Something not unakin to what my homie Shad has on his site (Quick Bits). Now, I'm wondering what would be the best way of going about this. Setting up a post te...

In the end I did a complete reinstall and everything seems to be working fine now, except I still don't get any notifications on comments. Thanks for your suggestions, and if you have any idea why I'm not being notified I'd be grateful for your input.

Problem with 1.0b

Aloha. I've encountered a slight problem with the 1.0b release, or at least I'm having this problem after the upgrade. When I try to preview or save an entry the following error message is returen in the window where I'd usually either get the preview or the "ping-notifications": Warning: ...

A disucussion on tags / categories.

Hi. I thought I'd share my personal confusion with you all and see if some answers popped up along the way. I'd really like to hear what you all have to say about the respective merits and flaws of the Tag system and the Category system. I started using tags a while back instead of categories seeing...

No sweat.
If you ever wonder about anything on how I've created the CSS feel free to ask. I'll be happy to help you if I can.

Davcjr: I'm thinking of doing a redesign for my site in not too long, and if so I'll gladly release the theme I've been using. Be warned that it plays merry hell with Internet Exploder though.

A suggestion, a request and then some.

Just installed 9 with the extra plugins. I loved the extended archive plugin, and I'd like to make a suggestion for it: I always strive to keep my sidebar as sightly as possible, so how about making it possible to put a static link to the archive page from the bottom of the recent entries plug? Actu...

Persistent problem with Spartacus

The last few updates I've had a problem with downloading any plugins from the online repository. I can browse through them well enough but when I try to install one I get a huge heap of error messages. It starts with telling me Cannot write to directory /home/users/********/hastalasiesta.org/www//pl...

<not really answering the question> Well, I know that using the .serendipitySideBarTitle background-image: url('templates/blogNew/img/sideBarHeader.png'); will give you a background image, so I'd imagine that what you'd have to do is somehow stop the same class from calling the text at all. and then...
