Suggestion: Give more links in the administration suite
Hi, I keep missing and missing links in the administration suite: * The Entry List should not only have a link to the "Edit entry" dialog, but also to the Entry in the Blog itself. * The Comment list should not only have links to the referencing article (Trackback) or the URL entered by th...

Suggestion: Optionally log X-Forwarded-For
Hi, the apache that runs my s9y is located behind a reverse proxy. It therefore logs all access as originating from 127.0.0.1. I would like to have an option making s9y log the IP addresses given in the X-Forwarded-For-Header of the http request instead or additional to the client IP address. Statis...

No error handling with spartacus downloads
Hi, when I select a plugin from spartacus, and serendipity/plugins is not writeable by the web server, the selection is silently ignored. s9y should: * check whether the plugins dir is writeable and warn on the spartacus configuration screen * issue an error message if a plugin download cannot proce...

Re: Wiki Markup and UTF-8
They would probably recommend using a current version. Is it easily possible to update Text_Wiki inside an s9y installation? It should be, it's in our bundled-libs directory. I don't know though if they've changed their API, so that the plugin might no longer work. Updating did work, but does not s...

Re: Wiki Markup and UTF-8
Then I'm afraid it is a bug with the Text_Wiki plugin. Sadly I know next to nothing about the plugin, since it is also not very commonly used. Maybe you can ask Tobias Schlitt or the PEAR guys for support? I also know that our WIKI plugin version is a bit outdated. They would probably recommend usi...

Re: Trackbacks for "future" articles go out immedi
Yes, trackbacks cannot be send scheduled because "scheduling" is not really part of HTTP and would require cronjobs. Cronjobs however are not often available for users. Would you suggest to not send a trackback at all? But actually I suggest using the manual trackback plugin and deactivat...

Serendipity doesn't ship world writeable, either. Or does tar honor umask when unpacking?
I cannot find the reference where chmod 777 is recommended, though.

Trackbacks for "future" articles go out immediatel
Hi, I have written an article to be published tomorrow at noon. In that article, I have linked to an earlier article. When I saved the new article, a trackback was immediately issued, and part of the article that should only be published tomorrow was already published as part of the trackback, which...

Re: Wiki Markup and UTF-8
Did you try to set "Delimiter" to "Yes" Öhm. I already answered that one. But the answer did not show up in the forum. Anyway. Yes, I have tried setting "Delimiter" to "Yes". Doesn't help. After experimenting a bit with the settings - the only setting that ch...

Install instructions are overly open with permissions
Hi, the s9y installation instructions say to chmod the entire installation directory 777, while it is actually only needed to have a few directories and files writeable by the web server. The s9y installation routine even checks file permissions and complains when needed permissions are missing. It ...

No input saniziting, no error handling on installation
Hi, when I installed s9y yesterday, I chose "mh-s9y" as database user name and database and table name prefix. s9y happily accepted these names (while it shouldn't have if "-" is a forbidden character in mySQL table names), and proceeded to issue SQL statements with the broken na...

Re: Changing Markup Plugins for an already existing blog?
Hi! Not if I intend to drop Wiki Markup and change, for example, to BBCode instead. Yes, sure. Many markups cannot be used interchangingly. Which is the reason why whatever route we take, we always screw up the other. If we store the HTML rendered version, it might break going from BBCode to Wiki. I...
