Re: Language Files // Cached Entries
I imagine this to be quite a bit of work still. […] we should think about a mechanism (a plugin, probably) to make this easier in the future. ~YL I used the notepad++ text editor to do that. With the compare plugin installed you see the differences between the old and new language files easily and ...

Sitemap Generation Event Plugin - Bug or Feature?
Hi there, (1) When CATEGORIES is selected to be in the sitemap those links look like .../categories/5-cars .../categories/6-bikes Now when ARCHIVES is added to the selection. Those category links disappear and are substituted with category links per month. E.g. http://blog.fcon21.biz/archives/2007/1...

Re: Language Files // Cached Entries
The value did not get picked up from those locations. The correct values for those template lang files would be lang_*.inc.php and UTF-8/lang_*.inc.php, * being a placeholder for the language shortcode (e.g. “en” for English). Does your theme have a config.inc.php and does it contain code for loadi...

Re: Language Files // Cached Entries
Garvin, I could successfully define a local constants and overwrite the global value from the language file by putting it into the serendipilty_config_local.inc.php file as you described. I only use one language, therefore, the solution with the configuration file is good enough for me. However, I d...

Language Files // Cached Entries
Hi everybody, Finally I have upgraded to 1.6.2. myself. Since I ran 1.1.2 (!), I did a clean installation and imported the data step by step directly into the database respectively installed plugins and configured them manually. Done. The blog runs fine without any issues Two questions: (1) I needed...

Re: S9Y and Google Wave
Google Wave is in Beta Preview, a lot of essential features are not up and running yet, e.g.: ACL (access control); Draft mode; Email gateway robots; ... and the Blog publishing robot introdiced in the video "Bloggy" doesn't run yet. Mainly because Waves cannot be accessed without a Wave a...

Re: Serendipity 1.5 release
Sounds great. I finally should upgrade from 1.1.2., I guess.
Don't worry I will do it safely with a second installation and then after its working switch DNS over. :-)

Re: SEO / Permalinks / Duplicate Content
Hey Jon this is a great thread! I've followed your steps for truncating blog post urls for better SEO. However I'm stuck on keeping old URLs alive through redirection. What coding did you use to achieve the results on your blog? It's mostly done by ** Configuring the permalink as "%id%/%title/...

Re: SEO / Permalinks / Duplicate Content
Latest update here my S9Y friends. Finally I have decided to do a HTTP/1.0 301 Permanently Moved Redirect on all short versions of the URL I have in use and also accidentally truncated versions. For simplicity and future compatibility I have simply introduced a new, very brief index-301.php file whi...
