Re: Using Serendipity as a CMS

My problem is that on the main page I might need a headliner that remains at the top with the rest of the news below. So I tried the static page plugin but I cannot seem to print content below that and have it show up, and it generally seems to complicated for what I need to do. Is there an easier ...

Kommt drauf an, was Du genau möchtest.

But i also wonder, why i am the only one with this problem. Am i the only guy with IE and this theme? It is definitely weird. I've been ignoring IE for quite some time, so I'm just now catching up on all those css bugs and flaws it has (and, gee , there's a lot of 'em ...) Are you and your friend u...

I think you're looking for the plugin serendipity_event_categorytemplates. It's available on Spartacus, see Plugins -> Event -> Backend: Templates.

I can't help it - I think our favourite beta tester[tm] has a very weird IE on his local machine

Oh, can i test it? I haven't found the "#serendipityRightSideBar" into the caramel.css so i wasn't able to test it with the recommended changes. Is the string somewhere else? What do i have to change in caramel.css to test it. I will then test it, because i now understood how template des...

Good work fixing the problem, now I guess we can get Garvin do his testing while we get the documentation organised. Phew! Let's hold our breaths until Harald has tested Caramel. So, thread summary. What do we have on our todo-list? Change right sidebar width to 19%, use non-% values for sidebar pa...

The only reason that I can think why it isn't working in caramel is the % margin and padding in the sidebar item and content. Caramel colorset is the only one that uses %, so maybe we need to play with that as well. *sigh* I knew this was gonna haunt me some day ... see, I had this dream of a theme...

YellowLed, this looks good. I've made the changes and this is the result in IE. But this change does not work for the caramel theme, right? Actually, it does. Well, at least it does in Firefox :) Please give it a try, I can't think of any reason why it should not work. Actually, the sliding faux co...

I had the opportunity to test this under WinXP with an IE6 on a friend's machine. However, I didn't want to install xampp and stuff there, so I went with a static html test page. I was able to reproduce it there the way Carl reported. That means in certain browser window sizes, the right sidebar was...

I stumbled over something today. Someone working on another 3-column framework for html pages reported similar problems which in his case turned out to be caused by the IE italics bug.

Hrm. Thanks for your patience, but I suppose this only confirms - again - that IE is a weird, bug-infested browser :(

This is where I tried it, but I do not know what exactly I have to change. I tried everything (padding, margin, ...) but did not succeed... I admit I'm not good with position:fixed since I never use it, but setting margin-left for #mainpane should do the trick. I'd suggest to add something like #ma...

No, it does not work for me. I tried it, after i've read carls statement. I use 1280x1024 and tried everything below it. :( At the risk of straining your patience even more, I'd like you to try a slightly modified version of the theme. I read something the other day about IE having problems with 'c...
