Now, now. Let's be nice.
At least Don does better than me. When he posts, it's something interesting, not just random mumblings.

Re: Embedded Blog
Tribe Roman Morga is a truly beautiful site. The embedding is just about seamless. I'm a little surprised it works without the "embedded" option; I thought it would output a second <head> section. Unless you modified the template to handle it? And I assume you've got the indexFile option p...

Re: second URL
If you had existing entries, you'd want to get a database dump and change all the paths to point at the root instead of the subdirectory. Since the database dump is plain text, this can be done with any decent editor. As a side-effect, the plugin configuration also changes all its paths, since that ...

Re: The trouble with categories...
If the provided template is displaying the same problem, it's certainly not the intended behavior! We expect that the {$categories} in the Smarty debug window will contain all of the categories, not just a subset of them. I'm betting the Static Pages plugin is to blame, but I'm not ready to finger i...

Re: Properties/Templates of categories with >1 categories
Now it makes perfect sense! Thanks for the links. I first tried a different author, and his page printed "no entries" as well. (I was thinking that possible accented characters in the first author's name might be causing a problem.) It looks like you're the only author that Serendipity is ...

Re: wondering if there is any plugin for searching chinese
It was my impression that the Quicksearch plugin would search your blog regardless of language, as long as your database and blog use the same character encoding. Are you actually having problems with searching?

Re: MySQL Error when using Gallery
Cerisa, The SQL error you're getting is from the Coppermine plugin. It sounds like you don't have a Coppermine gallery, and you're just trying to use Serendipity's own media manager. You can add pictures to your entries from Serendipity without any plugins at all. (In that case, you'll want to remov...

Re: Nothing to display
The continual logout is either a problem in the browser with cookies, or a problem on the server with sessions. Try removing any cookies from your domain and logging in again. The problem with the front page is insufficiently defined. Are you getting a blank page, or a "no entries to display&qu...

I'm having a little trouble visualizing the problem. If you could provide a URL for us to look at, I'm sure it would help straighten things out.

Re: The trouble with categories...
I've tried your exact template, but I still have the same issue with the subcategories. The problem's got to be somewhere else, then. The debug window doesn't list all the categories when I select either a parent or subcategory. It only lists them all when I've selected one of the static pages. Pro...

Re: Properties/Templates of categories with >1 categories
So what you've got is a blog where each author posts to his own category? And what you want is to link the author's name to his category overview? I can imagine a plugin that would overwrite the entry's $link_author to point it at a specific category. All you'd have to do is hook frontend_display:ht...

Re: Embed in an HTML/CSS web site/page.
Sure, just check out http://www.smarty.net/ . In short, a Smarty template is HTML with some logic added. The Smarty logic is all surrounded by curly braces -- {} -- to distinguish it from ordinary HTML. Smarty can retrieve variables (using the dollar sign), conditionally include HTML based on a comp...

No problem. I had forgotten all about it, actually. Let us know when you're ready, and I'll take a look at them.
